Table of Contents

As you know, yard signs in general don’t do very well without the help of something keeping them in place. Even poster’s need thumb tacks. We understand your ad is going to endure things like heavy wind, rain, ice, and snow. We don’t want these or any other elements washing away your potential revenue. Knowing that the yard sign for your business or campaign signage is going to be secure is a must, so we’re here to help. Here we have gathered some items to help bring you peace of mind.

What are H-wires?

We have four basic H-wire stands that we sell from our warehouse, all of which easily slide into the flutes of your sign. Each H-wire is made of slim metal posts that are fashioned together to form an “H”. First, we have our standard H-wires which is our top rated and best seller. It’s 30” x 10” and is $1.19. Next we have our economy H-wires and they’re 24” x 10” with a price of $1.09. Then we have our heavy duty H-wires which are the same dimensions as our standard except the actual thickness of the metal is greater and the top posts are slightly wider. These go for $3.40 each. Last but not least are the half sized H-wires which are 15” x 10” and they start at $0.92 . All of our H-wires have available price breaks so don’t be afraid to order more and save.

Yard Sign Accessories

Aside from our H-wire collection we also have other accessories like wood stakes, plastic sign frames, and steel sign frames. We also offer U-channel sign posts and plastic A-frame sign holders for your more particular needs. A-frame sign holders are good for indoor ads, like in a mall. The plastic sign frames, wood stakes, and all of our steel frames are perfect for outdoor signage and can be installed with a hammer and some elbow grease. These will not only keep your signs in place but will stay there for as long as you need, while taking on the surrounding environment.

Here’s where you can get your yard sign accessories and get started! A good tip to remember when placing yard signs is that six feet from the curb is considered public property so if you don’t want your yard sign up for grabs, push them back a smidge; closer to the house so it’s on private property. This ordinance varies from city to city so make sure and check with the proper local officials. Some people are even adding extra protection to their signs to keep thieves from taking them. You can read about it here! We here at Super Cheap Signs are glad to be able to assist you with all of your sign needs and as always, thank you for your business!

Foam on the Range: Foamboard signs

Everybody from kids to grandparents loves foam. Think Nerf balls, foam baseballs, paddleballs, mattress toppers, yoga mats…the list goes on. So if you’re foaming at the mouth trying to come up with creative ways to say the same thing differently with your advertising, think foam, foam on the range: foamboard signs, that is!

Foam is where the art is. Foamboard is a backing material widely used in framing art: a superior quality, versatile foam sheet sandwiched between PVC plastic to give you reliable results every time.

Foamboard is fabulous for advertising everything from your store’s holiday sale to a new product display. You can write on foamboard with Super Cheap Signs’ permanent markers, creating a personalized message for your special audience. You can even use foamboard for spinner signs, adding to its adaptability. While they’re ideal for indoor use, foamboard signs are relatively durable in outdoor weather, too, holding up for awhile even in the rain before beginning to dissolve. (This can also be a fun experience for employees with a quirky sense of humor.)

When you use our foamboard for indoor advertising, however, the main caveat is to prevent people from wanting to play with it the way they do with packing peanuts. Maybe you’ll want to keep some play foam around to distract your more artistic customers. A game of Nerf baseball, anyone? Super Cheap Signs got you covered.

The Grandfather of Creative Genius

In Marketing Magic/Part 1, author Debbie Millman discussed how to become a brand genius. Now she deconstructs the creative process itself as she recounts the wisdom of iconic graphic designer Milton Glaser, famous for the I♥NY logo and the poster of Bob Dylan in profile, his hair a psychedelic swirl.

Celebrated as the greatest living graphic designer, Glaser offers a wealth of insight that can help business owners create compelling signage. Take this story of how he became an artist:

“When I was a very little boy, a cousin came to my house with a paper bag. He asked me if I wanted to see a bird. I thought he had a bird in the bag. He stuck his hand in the bag, and I realized he had drawn a bird on the side of a bag with a pencil. I was astonished! I perceived this as being miraculous. At that moment, I decided that was what I was going to do with my life. Create miracles.”

While a sign doesn’t have to be fine art, there’s no telling where tomorrow’s critically acclaimed work will originate. You might think you’re simply designing a banner for your business — but if the combination of design, colors and verbiage strikes a chord, in the cyber age anything is possible. Thanks to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and many other social sites, unknowns become global sensations literally overnight.

Or maybe it’s a banner flag: the hybrid that makes a bold statement for your business, and is made to endure for seasons to come. At 11.5 feet tall and 2.5 feet wide, banner flags are hard to miss. And with our full-color UV-protected dyes and free design, proofing and logo re-creation, all you need to add is the creative genius.

So go ahead: create a miracle and let that banner wave all over cyberland, drawing customers to your door and kudos for your artistic brilliance. We’ll just remain quietly in the background.

Custom Aluminum Signs – So Many Uses!

Do you believe in magic? How about this:

Advertising magic? Believe it!
Advertising magic? Believe it!

A material that won’t corrode, is super flexible, lightweight yet strong — and the most abundant metal in the Earth’s crust. Perhaps it’s no surprise that versatile aluminum has the atomic number lucky 13. And aluminum is a team player: it combines in nature with over 270 different minerals.

As everyone knows, one of the most popular uses for aluminum is beverage cans — so if you were really enterprising, you could save your soda cans, hammer them flat, whitewash the existing message and create your own signage! But that’s an awful lot of labor, which might be better spent running your business or campaign.

Aluminum signs can be used to convey important information regarding your property or business.
Aluminum signs can be used to convey important information regarding your property or business.

Fortunately, you can purchase high-quality, .040 gauge aluminum signs for any purpose:

  • A “No Parking” sign to keep desperate drivers from blocking your entry? Check.
  • A fence sign, indicating “Private Property” or “No Trespassing” to keep the incurably curious out? Check.
  • A sign that informs parents and kids when the community pool begins summer swim classes? Of course.
  • A sign that indicates hours of operation for your business’s entrance gate? No problem!
  • Advertising a real estate listing? SOLD!

Whatever type of custom aluminum sign you require, this resilient metal will hold up and look terrific for years to come. You can design it single- or double-sided, in full color or just one or two hues — and with ten sizes to choose from, you’ll find the perfect combination to fit your unique needs.

Just remember: as adaptable as aluminum is, you can’t eat an aluminum sign to get your RDA of essential minerals.

Thirsty for Success: A powerful slogan

Invest in a campaign you believe in! Give your customers something they'll remember and hold onto.
Invest in a campaign you believe in! Give your customers something they’ll remember and hold onto.

The stunning success of the California “Got Milk?” campaign is legendary, and the powerful slogan is now part of the American lexicon. While this kind of advertising accomplishment is exceptional, it’s not the exception; any brand can apply the same principles used to develop, launch and maintain a landmark campaign — or build name recognition for their business.

Here are some of the most valuable lessons from “Got Milk?”. They’re especially relevant for real estate professionals and investors looking to dominate their market, which our real estate signage solutions have been helping them to do for years:

  1. Make New Friends But Keep the Old. Focus first on keeping those who are brand-loyal, because they’re your best source of increased sales.

The California Milk Processor Board (CMPB) chose to target regular milk drinkers, who constituted more than two-thirds of the market and were already favorably disposed toward the product — and thus more open to influence, especially in the short-term.

Entice your existing customers with discount offers and specials before expending energy attracting new business.

  1. Be Candid. If you employ a “Candid Camera” approach to discover how consumers feel about your product or service, you’ll be able to develop strong brand positioning based on these insights.

The “Got Milk?” ad agency removed all the milk from company refrigerators, placed video cameras inside, and recorded employee reactions to discovering there was no milk. In another research study, consumers were asked to forgo milk for a week, then report back. Their stories provided fabulous fodder for future ad direction.

  1. Cozy Up. Find a strategy that speaks to the consumer’s heart — or stomach, or bank account — and go the distance with it.

When the CMPB tried to sell more milk based on its health value, people yawned. But when the CMPB heard what consumers were telling them — that food choices drive milk purchases — they came up with the winning “deprivation strategy”: chocolate chip cookies or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches lost their cachet without the classic accompanying beverage.

What “goes with” your product or service like peanut butter with jelly? Put that on your yard sign or sandwich board and gauge how customers respond, then tweak your strategy accordingly.

  1. K-I-S-S (Keep It Super Simple). A great ad campaign that is too clever can lead to the opposite result from what you intend. Consumers must be able to easily grasp your message and understand what action you want them to take. This is where a powerful slogan is key.

A great example of a simple, memorable slogan that could lead to an enlarged customer-base and generate new interest in your brand!

In two words, “Got Milk?” functioned as a hook, a call to action and a take-away that could be adapted to a variety of placements. Think, “Got House?” if you’re a real estate professional, or “Got Lumber?” if you’re a builder.

Got the idea? Great. Just order it on the yard sign, banner or car magnet of your choice, and we’ll take it from there.

All Access: Becoming A Rolling Billboard for Business

Why settle for stationary advertising? Take your message with you wherever you go with our vehicle magnets!

Have you ever had an elite concert connection? Occasionally, if you were very lucky or knew someone who knew someone, you might score a backstage pass to meet the band after the show. But very few people outside the musicians’ entourage are granted “all-access”, which allows you to wander at will among the worshipped. For rock fans, such a pass is somewhat akin to an all-access badge to the White House.

However, with a little creativity you can create an “all access” environment for your business, so customers and potential customers can learn about you and what you offer anywhere, any time. No, we’re not talking about the Internet, but the outer net: connecting with the web of life all around you, akin to an all-purpose backstage pass, or Doctors Without Borders. Take a tip from Tim (name changed), who uses his motorized wheelchair to advertise his math and English tutoring services with a sign affixed to the back of his chair. Without driving a car, he’s a personal “rolling billboard” for his brand. As he rolls through town, kids and parents (many of whom he knows, since he’s been a community fixture for decades) can’t help but smile at this unusual use of signage. He may not be driving a car, but he’s certainly come up with a “magnetic” use of a sign!

Vehicle magnets are a fabulous way of turning your vehicle into a rolling

No need to restrict your advertising methods!

billboard — regardless of what type of vehicle you drive. Like Tim’s magnetic motorized wheelchair, you can devise ingenious ways to market your products or services. Our long lasting, attractive matte magnetic material is 3mm thick, with a special plastic coating on the side that adheres to your car (or truck, or wheelchair…) to prevent paint damage.

So turn magnetic marketing on its ear, and develop your own version of an “all access” vehicle. While we can’t promise it’ll admit you backstage to meet your favorite band, everyone who sees it will admit you’re a creative business owner — and that’s the kind of person others like to do business with. If you’re this imaginative in marketing your own business, who knows what you’ll be able to do for them?

Color Combinations for Yard Signs

Have your ever walked by yard signs for a business and completely ignored them because you couldn’t read what it said? All of us have done it, and you think to yourself, “Why even have the sign up?” Unfortunately the reason you are unable to read the signs is simply because the color combination is just not a match made in heaven. Even though the rainbow is beautiful and has all the colors under the sun, one should not think their sign should appear as a rainbow.  We always get asked by customers what are the best color combinations for business yard signs or campaign signs. We have compiled a list of the good, the bad and the ugly. The main thing to ask yourself when picking colors is what would look good together at a distance of ten feet or more? If you know at that distance light green and yellow will blur together, it’s best to go in a different direction.

Below we have screen printing color combinations that will make your customers stop and read and others that will have them just walking on past.

Good:good color sign

  • Blue and yellow on white material
  • Red and blue ink together
  • One single ink color on white material
  • Good Primary Ink colors: Navy Blue, Blue, Forest Green, Green, Burnt Orange, Orange, Red, Maroon, Purple, Brown, Black
  • Good Contrast Ink colors: light blue, teal, light green, yellow, pink, grey, white(only an ink color on yellow material. Doesn’t cost extra on white material)

Bad: bad colors on sign

  • Pink on yellow material
  • Light green on yellow material
  • Purple on yellow material
  • Navy Blue on Black inks on any material
  • Purple on Black inks on any material
  • Forest green on black inks
  • Light blue as primary ink color (supposed to be a contrast color)

On your next purchase of yard signs keep these color combinations in mind and see if you get different results. You may just see a perk in sales just from your selection of colors.

Be Easy To Find: Business Cards and Business Card Magnets

You know the drill: you’ve looked everywhere for that scrap of paper where you jotted down an all-important phone number. If only you’d programmed it into your phone. Oh, how frustrating…

Not if you have a business card magnet

Business card magnets are perfect for home or office. Your customers will probably stick the magnet on their refrigerator door, which means when it’s time to call the vet, the hair stylist, the personal chef service, or any business that delivers to the home, your contact information is right there.

Business card magnets also serve as a reminder to use your service. Your potential customer might be stuck on the exact name of your company, yet be thinking, “Gee, it would be great to see if that family catering place could come up with a creative spread for our family picnic.” On the other hand, if there’s a business card magnet on the fridge or filing cabinet, they’ll be on the phone with you, pronto.

And Business car magnets go hand-in-glove with printed business cards. These days, when websites are becoming as de rigeur as cell phones, it’s easy to overlook a paper promotional product. Yet the best way to help someone you meet at a networking event remember your website is to give them a business card.

While some companies offer standard business card templates, our business card are custom designed, so your card will be as unique as your company. Why blend in when it’s much more beneficial to stand out?

So get your customized business cards and business card magnets- and get more business!

Follow The Signs To Sell Your Home

Table of Contents

When Dorothy set off down the Yellow Brick Road, she wasn’t trying to sell a home, but return to one. Yet the principle is the same: to sell your home, stay on track with a clear focus, and you’ll get where you’re headed.

Real Estate Sign Basics

Aluminum Real Estate Yard Signs

Whether you’re selling your home yourself or through a real estate agent or broker, one of the first steps is placing a sign in your yard to show that the home is for sale. If you’re selling your home on your own, your real estate sign will say, “For Sale by Owner.” More commonly, however, are real estate signs that state the house is being sold through a broker or agent. In this case, the sign depicts the real estate company’s logo and the agent’s name and contact information.

The Right Direction

Like Dorothy and her Oz-bound companions, you want to point prospective buyers in the right direction. Directional signs are popular on weekends, when the bulk of home shoppers turn out in search of their new abode. Directional signs are placed at intersections to indicate a house that’s for sale up the block.

By the same token, if you live on a remote country property, a directional sign can signal a lovely home for sale a few miles up ahead.

Also, consider where your home is situated in relation to the strategic placement of your real estate yard signs. If you’re in the middle of a block, a single front lawn sign will be visible from either direction. If you have a corner lot, it makes sense to place signage on both streets to reach all prospective buyers as they drive past.

Quality and Content

Durable aluminum signs make the best real estate signs, because they hold up in all kinds of weather. And if your home doesn’t sell right away — or if you have a change of heart and decide not to sell for the time being — an aluminum sign will last for years.

If you’re creating your own real estate sign, make it attractive yet simple: use no more than two colors, such as red on white, which is easy to read and professional in appearance. And be sure to include a contact phone number in boldface.

Yard Signs, Online Tours and Ads, Oh My!

Finally, remember that today real estate agents can usually create a virtual tour of your home, so potential buyers can view your house online. Combining a traditional newspaper ad and virtual tour with real estate yard signs can lead prospects rapidly down the road to your successful home sale.

Lawn Signs: Making an Impact

There are many different ways that you can promote your business. Marketing campaigns come in all shapes and sizes, no matter what you might need. One of the most affordable and effective marketing tools available is the use of lawn signs to advertise your business. There are a variety of sizes and designs to choose from, letting you determine exactly how you make an impact with your signs.

Lawn signs are a great way to promote a new business, inform people of specials and sales going on, and to get visibility for many other purposes. You are probably used to seeing these signs during election season. However, they have many more uses beyond that. It’s all about finding what they can do for you.

The most common yard signs are made of a hard, durable plastic that is able to withstand the elements. Of course, there are lighter bag-style signs that are stretched over wire sign holders to provide a more affordable or flexible style of advertising. It doesn’t matter which signs you choose to work with, because they just need to work for your specific needs. There is no point in spending money on something that won’t last, so make sure that you choose signs that will hold out over time.

When you’re just starting out, these signs can help you build your brand. People will see your signs and remember your business as the place to go when they need products or services that you offer. As time goes on, you can continue to benefit from yard signs. You can use them to promote new services or products, advertise deals and specials, and let people know what’s going on in your business.

You can place the signs in the yard of your business, at your home, at homes of people in the community, and even along busy roads and intersections to get people interested in your business. If you have an event going on, these signs will be helpful in promotion, as well. A newspaper ad is only seen by people who read the paper. However, if you put a lawn sign in a place that most people drive by regularly, you’ll get much more visibility.

Finding the best marketing campaigns and tools for your business is the goal here. If you want affordable marketing ideas that provide better success rates for less money, you should consider lawn signs. It doesn’t matter whether your business is big or small, or what type of marketing you are trying to accomplish. Whether you use the signs in a specific location or for a certain event, they will be effective in many different situations.
